I wanted to start this post by saying thanks to Monkey and all the guys that worked the event to make it fun for everyone.
I can’t speak for all the players at the event but from what I saw and what I heard, most people liked to have the mobile bunker on the field. I personally think it is a prop that adds a fun element to the game and I would love to see the park take this one over and make a couple more. It seemed that it was the element that gave the team that had possession of it a small advantage. I am sure that as it is used more, people will think of the most advantageous way to use this prop.
There were two incidents that I wanted to bring up here. The first I did not see happen, Noah told me about it on the way home. Noah was in the Mobile Bunker when a player on the other team ran up, stuck his barrel through a gun hole, into the Bunker and shot him point-blank in the shoulder. Noah grabbed the end of the guy’s gun and shot the player out. The second incident I think everyone saw. When Noah was in the Mobile Bunker, unarmed, and a player ran up stuck his gun in. Noah grabbed the player’s barrel. The guy pulled his gun out and proceeded to try to stick his gun under the bunker to shoot Noah. While Noah was stomping on the guy’s gun and hand another play ran up and tried to stick his gun under the bunker. Luckily at this point Billy Bob put an end to it. We were all told at the briefing that the only way to eliminate the mobile bunker was a direct AT hit. That means that there was no reason that those players should stick their barrels or their guns in the bunker to shoot the people inside. Technically, even if they were to shoot the player inside the Mobile Bunker, the player would not have been eliminated. The thing that makes me the maddest about this is that the three players that were responsible for these two incidents were all wearing Regan’s Army jerseys. Correct me here if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that this team was made up of the referee staff from DZ. Even if they are not, they obviously know better than to shoot someone point-blank. This is the same as if I ran up to Ben while he was in his tank, stuck my gun into his window and started to fire at him point-blank. I am not sure what would happen if I were to do that to Ben, but I think being ejected from the game would be the least of my worries.
This brings me to the main purpose of this post. I think that if we are going to continue to use this prop, we need to make some clear rules regarding its use. Here are my thoughts on the rules of this prop. Please feel free to make your suggestions.
1. If both teams start the game with an AT then the Mobile Bunker, MB, and the players in it, can only be eliminated by a direct AT hit.
2. If one team or both do not have an AT then they will be issued 2 tank rounds (a tennis ball, Nerf football, ect… Something that can be thrown). Any player that has this round may throw it at the MB, or carry this round to the MB to eliminate it. If a player carries it to the MB and touches the MB before they are shot out, they will be eliminated along with all players within 10 feet of the MB. The player that last had the tank round may call himself neutral to retrieve the round.
3. A team that looses their AT player during a game may have the General ask to have their 2 tank rounds issued to them, however, if an AT player comes to play, or returns to play, on that team, the tank rounds will be returned to the ref and a 50 point penalty against the team will be issued. A team that did not have an AT player from the start may acquire an AT player at no penalty, the tank rounds should be returned to the ref at that time.
4. The MB will be considered “door open” when the tank is tipped up, as in, to allow players in and out. A player may be eliminated with a paintball hit anytime the door is open. The MB will be considered “door closed” when all four wheels have touched the ground. A player can not be eliminated with a paintball hit once the door is closed.
5. AT NO TIME MAY ANY PLAYER STICK THEIR GUN INTO OR UNDER THE MB TO SHOOT THE PLAYERS INSIDE. ANYONE DOING SO WILL BE IMMEDIATELY EJECTED FROM THE GAME WITHOUT A REFUND.
6. People that rush up onto the MB while occupied by the opposing team, do so at their own risk and may be shot at close range.

The last thing, The Mobile Bunker has served two games, although the frame was replaced Friday night at about 1:00 in the morning, and deserves to have a cool battle name. I would like everyone to post up there suggestions for a name and then someone who knows how to make a pole can put the three most popular names into a pole and everyone can vote on a new name for the Mobile Bunker.

Well done Chris.

I was unaware of these two instances.  I will take it up with the field for safety as we made it clear in the mission briefing/safety that tanks and MB's rules and that ALL the field had a 10 foot or less no fire rule

Ill turn this into a poll once we get some names and Ill take up the building and storing of more of these with the field!!

I loved the MB. I thought it was best to have 1 guy inside it while i was posted on the outside using the mb as a mobile bunker. I still think that we should be able to post up on the outside of it and use it as it was intended a Mobile bunker.

Im thinking that you should only be able to advance the bunkers position as long as someone is inside it. How ever if nobody is inside it you will not be allowed the advance the bunker only rotate it for better cover.

I didnt see the incident concerning the regains army playersan the MB but i did hear Alot of complants during the 2nd mission about the DZ turny player bonus balling like crazy. I was standing it the respawn point when the guy was talking to steve. I stoped counting after 30 hit on him. His whole right side looked like a gallon of paint was poured on him. He could have ben wiping and thats why the lit the hell out of him but when more that 3 ppl complain about the same group of players it makes me wonder about it. Another thing about the 2nd mission was ware the COG respan point was on lower speedbal. The Locust goton the far right side and was just firing into the dead zone. Th Dead Zone should be positioned so that this is not a problem Or clearly marked and not in a direct fire lane of live players.

Well, a question came up during the game, "If I can shoot his feet is he out?"  I wasn't sure how Monkey and Ken wanted to call that so I got ahold of Ken on the radio and I was told that we'd allow the foot shots.  Being that it's a bunker and in real life bunkers are not completely invulnerable I that it was a good call.  However, I agree that running up and putting your gun under the bunker to shoot someone is not really acceptable.

I was not aware of the first instance where Noah was shot in the shoulder but the second incident, I think Noah and the other players were all in the wrong.  I did tell the players that a foot shot would count on Noah, but I didn't tell them they could ignore the 10 ft. rule.  At the same time, Noah was not in possession of a marker or any other device capable of eliminating a player.  I told Noah he'd be better off just taking the surrender, with as many players around him as there happened to be, they could have easily lifted the bunker above Noah's head while one player stood 15 feet away and shot him (after all we didn't have a rule stating they couldn't do so).  Noah also seemed to be taking it as a joke so I let it happen until it became completely asinine and I told the other players to stop and told Noah to take the walk.

I myself am not exactly fond of the Reagan's Army players.  With all the calls I had to make Saturday the only players that argued with me were the two RA idiots that argued over using the deadzone as a bunker.  They kept pointing out that blue players had been using it as a bunker and that they should be able to use it as well.  I wasn't even making them go out, I told them to stay off the deadzone (my mistake).  And when they kept arguing I told them, "Well, it doesn't matter, you were AT'ed before I even got over here."  Then they had to take the walk since they wanted to play it as a bunker.

Your ideas about the "alternate AT weapons" are pretty good from my standpoint.

I think Ken specified the rules on the 10ft. rule very clearly...
I was shoot out when the first inncodent happened to Noah.
They were clearly trying to be, "Bludgernate" about it. I think the rules that Chris laid out were suitable for the MB.
My name i would give the tank is TINY! Smile
P.S. idk if i spelled Bludgernate right so..sorry

Not defending the RA players, but they showed up late and were not informed on the MB rules. Common sense should apply though!!

I personally overshot the hell out of a guy all decked out in camo (had some weird head covering on), I unloaded two hoppers on him! And yes it was for blatant cheating! He's lucky I didn't make him leave! He tried TWICE to shoot me after he was out, the first time he wiped, the second time there was no hope of wiping, yet he raised his marker at me again!
